SEO – Do Your Clients Know What It Is?
Clients Asking For SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) But Not Understanding What It Actually Is…
What is SEO?
“Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a web search engine’s unpaid results – often referred to as “natural”, “organic” or “earned” results.”
This basically means SEO is when you can see your business page on a search engine such as Google. It is based on keywords that you type into Google and expects your business page/ website to be shown on at least the first 2 pages of Google’s results.
An example of SEO
For example; if I was looking for a hairdresser local to me I would type something like ‘hairdressers near me, which would be the keywords. Then I would expect the best hairdressers to be shown in the results with the ones that are local to me.
It is pretty simple, right? Well once you get your head around it.
PROBLEMS?!
Some clients never seem to appreciate the needs in order to make SEO successful. We ask for a particular keyword, not just any.
Keywords are only worth using if we know that they will be effective.
Google search engine provides a great weight on the title of articles and blogs. That is why it is crucial that the keyword phrase is present in the title as an important part of effective SEO content. This is usually what would go in Google’s search engine bar to find your company.
DEFINITIONS FOR YOU GUYS:
Backlink: an incoming hyperlink from one web page to another website
Web Traffic: the amount of data sent and received by visitors to a website. This is determined by the number of visitors and the number of pages they visit.
Indexing Keywords: Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) is a system used by Google and other major search engines. The contents of a webpage are crawled by a search engine and the most common words and phrases are collated and identified as the keywords for the page
OVERALL…
Overall, we understand that companies may be too busy to have time to sit down and write a bunch of keywords, but if you don’t then we wont know what you want. At the end of the day we want to create the best results for our clients!
So let’s work together.
