How Does User Experience Affect Your SEO?
When thinking about what to put for your SEO, thinking about your user experience is also important. But what do you need to think about SEO user experience to get the most out of it? If you are unsure of what you need to think of, don’t worry. Here are some of our tips to make sure you make the most of your SEO on connecting with your target audience.
SEO User Experience Tips:
Country and Locality:
Before starting your SEO on your website, you should consider what country and region your target audience is from. For example, if you are a company that wants to offer a certain package for people within the UK, make sure your website speaks to those people within the UK. This can be from writing your content in English-UK (e.g. colour) instead of writing your content in English-US (e.g. colour).
Getting these things correct within your website content, will help your website rank within local-SEO or global-SEO depending on who is searching and where they are searching from.
User Interaction:
Did you know search engines keep track of how people interact with your site? Getting track of this, this can either help or affect your SEO ranking score. For example, search engines can see whether a user jumps to a search result page and come right back because they haven’t found what they were looking for as a sign of a bad user experience.
Within the user experience of your website, they will be looking into two areas. These are history and intent.
History:
Within history, search engines see how regularly a user engages with your domain. When a user engages with your domain frequently it can have the effect of making you rank higher on search engines due to seeing users revisit your site.
Intent:
Intent refers to the intention the user goes onto your site. If you market yourself as a company that sells food but nowhere on your website mentions food people can buy. Then the user going onto your website will come straight off due to the intention of them going onto your website wasn’t fulfilled. This will, therefore, affect your website’s bounce rate which will have some effect on your SEO ranking.
